摘要:The woven structure of leather fiber bundles significantly influences the performance of leather. The existing woven structure made of leather fiber bundles was deduced by analyzing the images of leather cross section. However, this method is not completely effective in revealing the true three-dimensional (3-D) woven structure owing to its complex structural characteristics. Also, it was found that the structure of spatial fiber bundles can not be inferred from a few of random sectional images. In this paper, the 3-D reconstruction of leather fibers weaving structure was undertaken using sequence sections which were obtained by metallographic sample preparation combined with layer-by-layer grinding method. Based on the platform of VC++ and OpenGL, the 3-D reconstruction and visualization software including programming modules of image registration, border detection and segmentation, surface rendering and volume rendering were developed. In particular, the 3-D reconstructed microstructure of leather reticular layer was clearly revealed for the first time. The 3-D reconstruction model of leather can vigorously promote the research on leather structure into a three-dimensionally digital era and also pave a way to study further the relationship between the leather structure and its performance.
