摘要:The crack-free monolithic ZnO-Al2O3-SiO 2-CoO (ZASC) dried gels were synthesized using sol-gel method. N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) was added to the starting solutions to avoid cracking. The pore size distributions of the dried gels were studied with or without DMF. It was found that the gelation process of the sol containing DMF was slower than that of the sol without DMF. The crack-free dried gel was characterized by large pore size, indicating that large pore size decreased the capillary force. When no DMF was added to the starting solution, ethanol and water filled the pores in the wet gels. The resulting smaller pores and the large surface tension of the water-rich liquid were the causes of crack in the drying gels.
