摘要：The suppression effect of water on coal and gas outburst was worked out by numerical method. Periodic weighting of coal mining brought force to different coal-bearing strata and led to the accumulation of elastic-plastic energy in partial stratum. The interaction between stress and gas caused coal to turn into block and dust, creating fracture which made passageways for gas flow. Based on the numerical computation of the process, this study explored the suppression effect of water on gas outburst. The results suggest that water can suppress the large coal and gas outburst caused by large gas displacement in coal stratum and large elastic strain energy thus accumulated, greatly reducing the hazard and damage of coal mining. The upper 1/2~1/3 of the coal bed, where the largest gas disposition takes place, is the suitable position to pump out the gas. Rational utilization and injection of water reduce the risk of coal and gas outburst by decreasing the elastic energy accumulated in coal.
