摘要:Electro-thermal coupling theory can be used as an effective tool to analyse the thermal characteristics of power cables. As the carrier for transmitting electrical power, cables can convey alternating current(AC) as well as direct current(DC) and have different thermal characteristics under different current forms. This paper analyses the ampacity of electric cables based on electro-thermal coupling, and compares the influence of the thermal resistance of different materials in the cable. Case study reveals the thermal characteristics under different current forms by simulating temperature variations of the two cables.
