摘要：This study aims at investigating the effect of carbonate scaling and humic acid fouling when treating synthetic seawater by direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) and using submerged ultrafiltration (SUF) as the pretreatment to remove the organic matter for rice irrigation. Moreover, the nucleation kinetics of CaCO3 was also investigated from induction time measurements by dynamic light scattering (DLS). DCMD tests without pre-treatment, carried out on a semi-pilot plant under a temperature gradient of 20°C (inlet feed temperature: 40°C), showed a progressive deterioration of the system performance, and the initial distillate flux (2.05±0.05) L/m2h was reduced by (45.4±0.83)% after 35 h of uninterrupted operation. A maximum value of (63.2±0.65)% in total organic carbon (TOC) rejection was achieved after pretreatment of submerged ultrafiltration system.
