摘要:Practical applications of High-speed Machining (HSM) have been extended because of its advantages, such as high productivity, high accuracy and better workpiece surface quality. However, at high cutting speeds, the essential machining characteristics are commonly predicted by a large number of empirical data in machining tests. A theoretical model for HSM process will give more robust answers for cutting under a wider range of machining conditions and will require fewer experiments. This paper reviews the state of the arts in modeling technology for HSM process, and discusses some key aspects in this field, including modeling of cutting forces, cutting temperatures and the workepice surface roughness. At last, the new trends of modeling techniques for HSM process are conclusively predicted.
