摘要:Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq(3)) nanostructures are promising materials for nanooptoelectronic devices and molecular spintronics. In this paper, we report Alq(3) nanocrystals prepared by both physical vapor deposition (PVD) and facile solution method. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution scanning electron microscope (SEM) measurements show that the Alq(3) nanomaterials prepared by PVD technique are epsilon-Alq(3) nanoflowers, while the Alq(3) nanostructures prepared by solution method are alpha-Alq(3) nanorods. Our experiments indicate that the alpha-Alq(3) nanomaterials prepared by using solution method are more suitable for the fabrication of molecular spintronic devices than that of PVD method.
