摘要:The industrial and biomedical applications of hydrogels made from synthetic sources are strongly limited by their poor mechanical strength. In recent years, a lot of effort has been made to change the inner microstructure of the hydrogels to improve their mechanical strength. The development of nanoscale science and technology encompassing traditional chemistry to molecular biology has been used in the design of hydrogels. This review described various effective methods to improve the mechanical strength of hydrogels. Among all the methods, the nanocomposite hydrogels attract researcher's attention. Our goal is to encourage more researchers to exploit these methods and expand the range of practical applications as soon as possible.
