摘要:In this letter, the effect of Mn on growth mechanism and morphology evolution of CrB2 particles was studied in detail. Results show that without Mn addition, CrB2 can be formed with six plate morphology, while trace Mn addition lead to morphology evolution of CrB2 and forming doped (Cr1−xMnx)B2 with square lamella morphology. Besides, excessive Mn addition changed the chemical composition of Al-Cr-B system and a new phase, doped (Cr1−xMnx)3B4 with well-developed {0 1 0} faces was formed. Overall, a synthesis route of CrB2 crystals with controllable morphology was established.
