摘要：This paper proposes a fast busbar protection method based on polarity comparison of superimposed current. Theoretical analysis shows that the polarities of superimposed currents on all lines connected to the faulted busbar are all same in case of an internal fault to busbar; but for a fault occurring on any one of these lines, the polarity on the faulted line is opposite to those on healthy lines. Using these characteristics, the busbar protection criterion can be established. To improve the reliability of the busbar protection method, the waveforms of superimposed currents are integrated within a short time of post-fault. Using PSCAD, a real 220 kV substation busbar model was built to evaluate the performance of the proposed protection method. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is hardly influenced by fault inception angles, fault resistances, fault types, current transformer (CT) saturation, etc.
