摘要:According to the world Bank, the annual economic damage from the accident exceeds 500 billion US dollars, and amounts from 2 to 4% of the gross national product of developed countries. Current trends in transportation systems indicate that by 2030 road traffic injuries will be the fifth leading cause of death in the world. The level of losses incurred by society is unacceptably high all over the world, and therefore the solution to the problem of road safety is the most important and urgent task for modern society. From a review of the main methods of assessing damage from road accidents, it is noted that different countries have different approaches to assessing the damage. Different methods give different and completely incomparable results, which indicates their lack of operationality. These methods also do not take into account the different expectations of consumers. For example, in Russian Federation there is a universal methodology "Assessment and calculation of standards of socio-economic damage from road accidents". It is recommended to assess the effectiveness of targeted programs aimed at improving road safety at the Federal, regional and local levels. However, the review suggests that the universal methodology is inconvenient for practical application. For practical use, specific methods should be developed that fully take into account needs of different users.
