摘要：This paper deals with the design and analysis of an outer rotor brushless DC (BLDC) motor using the loading distribution method (LDM) for range hood applications. The goal is to design the BLDC motor with decreased motor outer diameter but improved performance compared to the commercial one. The LDM is utilized to design the BLDC motor by sufficiently considering the loading conditions, especially the electric loading related to the inner stator windings. As a design result, the outer diameter of the new BLDC motor is decreased by 8% with highly improved power and efficiency compared to the commercial one. The finite element method (FEM) is first to be conducted to verify the design results and to predict the performance of the designed BLDC motor. Then the analysis results are validated by experimental measurements for the prototype motor.
