摘要:The preparation and characterisation of a novel dmit organometallic complex crystal [(C4H9)(4)N](2)[Mn(dmit)(2) (dmit2(-)=4,5-dimercapto-1,3-dithiole-2-thionate)], abbreviated BAMDT, is described. The crystal is characterised by elemental analyses, electronic absorption and infrared spectra. The thermal decomposition process is investigated by means of thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis measurements both in air and under nitrogen flux. The third order optical non-linearity at the acetone solution is characterised using the Z scan technique with a 20 ps pulse width at 1064 nm. The Z scan curves show that BAMDT possesses a negative non-linear refraction and negligible non-linear absorption. The effective molecular second order hyperpolarisability gamma(eff) of the BAMDT molecule is estimated to be as large as 3.2x10(-31) esu, suggesting that BAMDT is potentially useful for non-linear optical device applications.
