摘要：Meter reading is an important business in gas station, and its training is necessary. Hence, a realistic three-dimensional (3D) virtual simulation of meter reading is very important for the simulation training system. In this paper, we present the prin- ciples and methods for the 3D virtual simulation of meter reading, which can be used in the gas station simulation training system. The simulation is based on the OpenScene- Graph (OSG) virtual reality (VR) technology and basic principle of computer simulation. In addition, MySQL database and QT technology are used. Finally, the simulation re- sults are provided, including scene roaming, meter dynamic simulation and meter reading simulation. Results show that the proposed simulation has features of good real-time per- formance, easy operation and good stability. At present, the simulation has been applied in the gas station simulation training system. Practical evidences show that the simu- lation can well meet the practical requirements of gas station training and can not only improve training quality, but can also reduce training costs. © 2015 ISSN.
