摘要:Microbial production of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) is challenging, as they are rare metabolites and toxic to cells. Recently, Zhu et al. performed multidimensional engineering in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, including engineering fatty acid synthases and improving cellular tolerance to MCFAs, to build an efficient MCFA cell factory.
