摘要：Bi2O3is an excellent sintering assistant and a good dopant for YSZ. In this work, a Bi2O3-Y2O3-ZrO2(Bi-YSZ) nano-structural composite was fabricated by a combined gel-casting and low temperature sintering process. The relationships between the amount of doped Bi2O3and the conductivity, microstructure and phase ratios of the nanocomposite were investigated. The results showed an optimum volume ratio of 53% in solid content during the gel-casting process, and an optimum relative density of 97-99% in 3% Bi2O3-YSZ sintered at 1000°C. The improvement in the conductivity of Bi-YSZ comes from the contributions of oxygen ion conductivity of Bi2O3solved in YSZ, as well as the high conductivity of the δ-Bi2O3, which was formed in excessively doped samples. In addition, it was found that sintering processes significantly affect electrical performance, phase ratios and microstructures of Bi-YSZ.
