摘要:The short glass fiber (SGF)/polypropylene (PP) composites were prepared by extrusion and subsequently injection processes. The evolution of phase structures and mechanical properties of SGF/PP composites were performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle tensiometer, universal testing machine and impact tester. The results show that the interfacial adhesion between SGF and matrix were enhanced significant with the presence of maleic anhydride grafted PP (PP-g-MAH) and maleic anhydride grafted ethylene-1-octene copolymer (EOC-g-MAH). Moreover, the EOC-g-MAH promoted to form the novel configuration of EOC-g-MAH particles adhered firmly onto SGF surfaces, which resulted in the much higher impact toughness and tensile strength. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
