摘要：The in situ particle reinforced Fe-matrix composite coating on a low carbon steel was prepared by plasma jet surface metallurgy using Fe, C, W, Cr, Al alloy powders. The microstructure and the distribution of in situ particles in the coating were observed by optical microscope, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The results show that metallurgical bonding is obtained between coating and substrate, and the microstructure of the coating is mainly composed of γ-Fe, (Fe, Cr, W, Nb)7C3 and AlFe particles which are synthesized in situ and dispersively distributed in the coating. Because of solid-solution hardening, dispersion strengthening and grain refinement strengthening, the microhardness of Fe-matrix coating can be enhanced and the maximum hardness of the coating is 830HV0.1.
