摘要:The effects of boron (B) on the microstructure and grain refining efficiency of Al-Ti-C master alloy have been investigated by preparing a series of Al-Ti-C-B master alloys using a melt reaction method in this paper. It is found that with the increasing B addition. the microstructure of Al-Ti-C-B is improved and the nucleating particles are homogeneously dispersed in the matrix. Besides. TiC and TiB2 particle size also increases correspondingly. Furthermore. the addition of B has greatly improved the grain refining efficiency of Al-Ti-C master alloy. especially the fading resistance ability with prolonged time. It is supposed that the increased nucleating particle dispersion and particle size have increased the volume fraction of active particles. which is supposed to account for the excellent grain refining performance.
